Pediatric dentistry
Children on a dentist chair are treated as seriously as adults. Even more seriously since the child’s treatment sometimes requires more attention not only while working with such patients but with the patients themselves.
Firstly, we do not do anything “at a push” and that is why we have great treatment results. Our doctors are the specialists who do their best to make the experience of visiting the dentist as comfortable and pleasant as possible.
Children sometimes need so called “adaptive visits” that is why we strongly advise to bring the child to our clinic to make them get used to a new situation and staff. Getting the child into a habit of going to the dentist, even if just for a check-up is a crucial point and should happen before any serious treatment. Usually, after a few visits the cooperation is much easier.
Parents also play an important role in the treatment process. They should remember not to convey (subconsciously or not) stereotypical prejudices against dental visits. Do not scare your children off with the dentist because they did not brush their teeth well.
Actually parents’ help in that matter is crucial, as well, if not the most crucial:
Children have their parents to get help with what is still too difficult for them. So let’s check how they brush their teeth. If we see any remnants, let’s brush their teeth once again explaining what was wrong and what to improve. The child’s age does not matter, if they are 3 or 11. Let’s help them as long as necessary. Your children will certainly appreciate with a beautiful smile that you did not allow them to damage their teeth, and dental visits mean only check-ups and hygiene.
We would be happy to help and teach you how to check your children’s brushing skill.
